What data we collect (main categories). Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

  • Account data: email address, phone number (if provided), username, profile information.
  • User content: Listings (item descriptions, photos), messages and images sent via in-app chat, reports you submit.
  • Usage and device data: app activity, logs, device identifiers, and diagnostic data.
  • Location data (optional): if you grant permission, we may process precise GPS location to show items near you or improve location-based features.

Why we use your data (purposes). We use personal data to:

  • provide and operate the App (account creation, listings, messaging, matching);
  • enable peer-to-peer Exchanges and related communications;
  • improve safety and trust (reports, moderation, fraud prevention);
  • maintain, secure, and improve the App (analytics, debugging);
  • communicate with you about the service (support, important updates).

Legal bases (high level). Where applicable, we process personal data based on:

  • performance of a contract (providing the App);
  • legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement);
  • your consent (for optional features such as precise location, where required);
  • compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing. We may share data:

  • with other Users as necessary for the App to work (for example, your username/profile and Listing information, and messages you send);
  • with service providers (hosting, analytics, customer support tools) acting on our instructions;
  • with authorities where required by law or to protect Users and the platform.

Retention. We keep personal data while your Account is active and as needed for legitimate purposes (security, dispute handling, legal obligations). You can request deletion of your Account.

Your choices and rights. You can:

  • access and update certain information in the App;
  • withdraw location permission in your device settings;
  • request Account deletion by contacting hello@hiiba.ae.
